Dreams have been dreamt
Lives have been lived
Passions have been generated
The African girl child is yet to be felt.
Why? You may asked
Is it a hard task
For the girl child to get
All the appreciation and deserved credit?
Leaving the other to be Oh! Deer
Apparently! that’s the start for their tears
Never will their ears hear applause
A baby girl is the father's pride.
Her first cry starts the roller coaster ride.
Just as important as the baby boy...maybe even more.
When did the rains start beating the poor souls?
Responsibilities creep in and push them to the wall.
Education and other important priorities pushed to the boy,
The girl just lost the apple position.
Hey, society! Wait a minute!
Being a girl is no disability
It's time to ditch the traditions
That have kept girls in the dark
It's time to embrace change, to embrace the girl child
To appreciate the value of the girlchild in the society
FGM, HPV and even Cervical Cancer Waah!fights ueach girl among other things they face and external Worldwar 3 from the society,
Cool it off and let her gain her rightful place and avoid mediocrity,
Support that girl in your hood
Encourage that girl in your class
Give your sister space to breath
Let your daughter shine on
Because she is as important
